Botswana

Most non-desert destinations have good game viewing year round, however, May - August is the most comfortable time to travel with temperatures ranging between 45 and 85 degrees. This is the ideal time to visit because it is also the dry season sighting distances increase as vegetation recedes. The desert regions have the best viewing from December to May.

Kenya

The Masai Mara has great viewing year round. Most other game areas are excellent July - September and mid-December - March; these are also the dry seasons.

Madagascar

Dry season lasts from May to September on most of the island, however, with its variations in altitude, it is difficult to determine the best time to visit.

Malawi

The dry season is from June to October, however, from November to May, vast herd of wildlife congregate in the Nyika grasslands.

Mozambique

The dry season is from April to September.

Namibia

Winter ( May - September ) is the best time to visit the game parks and the central and northern regions when the days are warm with clear skies and the nights are cold.

South Africa

Due to its size, there are geographical variations in South Africa's weather. The Cape offers unpredictable but generally temperate climate, while KwaZulu-Natal to the northeast is more tropical. Summer days (September - March) are warm with cool nights and winters are mild with temperatures below freezing at night at higher elevations. The best game viewing in the Kruger area is July - October, but game can be found year round.

Tanzania

July - September and December - March are the dry seasons and offer excellent game viewing. Calving takes place in the Serengeti in February and March.

Zambia

Winter is April through September and is generally has excellent game viewing with a comfortable climate. If you can stand the heat, game viewing gets even better when it heats up just before the rains, August - October.

Zanzibar

There are four distinct seasons: warm and rainy November to March; a spring-like season from March to May; a cool and dry winter from May to August; and increasingly warmer from August to October.
